Taken from the Family Watch International's weekly newsletter, September 16th edition:
“What a beautiful Party A!”
“Gather round! Party A is throwing the bouquet!”
“You may now kiss Party A.”
“Blushing Party A.” “Father of Party A.” “Party A-to-be.” “A June Party A.”
Stupid, right?
Well, thanks to the state of California . . . more specifically, the California State Supreme Court . . . what the heck . . . let’s go all the way and thank the FOUR BLACK-ROBED LAWYER-TYPE INDIVIDUALS THAT FORCED SAME-SEX MARRIAGE ON THE CITIZENS OF CALIFORNIA.
And why this debt of gratitude?
For making it so that the word “Bride” and the word “Groom” are now considered an “unacceptable alteration” on a California state marriage license.
Pastor Doug Bird discovered this the hard way after he filed a marriage license with the Placer County Clerk. The couple being married had written those old-fashioned-now-inappropriate-how-dare-you words “Bride” (GASP!) and “Groom” (HORRORS!) next to the words on the new California license “Party A” and “Party B.”
The County Recorder’s Office sent it back. REJECTED!!
If I’m not mistaken, this means that legally, you CAN’T BE A BRIDE IN CALIFORNIA! It also means that as far as the state is concerned, the couple, Gideon and Rachel Codding, aren’t even legally married. They’ve even been denied benefits.
Man, I’m so glad same-sex marriage isn’t affecting traditional marriage.
Aren’t you?
Sometimes my state infuriates me. You can take PCness too far, and the fight over traditional marriage is the perfect example. If you still have your California residency (which I had to give up after living in Utah for five years), please vote yes on Prop 8.
Oh, and no matter what my stupid home state says, you'd better believe I will be a bride (whenever that day comes). None of this "Party A" crap.
